APPLYING FOR OUR FOODRUN PROGRAM


How do I apply?

To apply for our foodrun program click on the “APPLY NOW TAB”  on our FOODRUN PAGE or CLICK HERE


What documentation do I need to submit?

You must submit your MOST RECENT


  • Centrelink Income Statement or Bank Statement

 

All formats of documents are supported.

 

Why do you request a Centrelink Income Statement or Bank Statement?

By providing us with these documents we are able to determine what your financial income is. Furthermore, it allows for us to verify your personal information which helps us on the day of your grocery delivery.

You must be able to demonstrate, that you are in financial hardship and require the service.

 

How long will it take for my application to be processed?

Generally, 24-48 hours.

 

How will I know if I have been approved or declined?

Our qualified case workers will contact you regarding the outcome via the contact details you have provided on your application form. If you have been declined, you will be provided the opportunity to appeal the decision. The case worker will provide you with a list of options on how you can do this.

 

How often will I receive groceries?

Applicants will receive a ONE-OFF grocery delivery. However, if you require further assistance, you can contact us via email foodrun@givingbackaustralia.org.au  requesting for further assistance and your case worker will contact you on how to do so.

 

What if I need further assistance?

If you require further assistance and requesting for future deliveries which can be for a minimum of 2 MONTHS to 6 MONTHS, you will need to supply further documentation and complete our CIRCLE OF HOPE FORM or you may CLICK HERE.

 

DELIVERY

When will I receive my grocery delivery?

Grocery deliveries are made EVERY TWO WEEKS ON SATURDAY. BETWEEN 8AM-1PM. If you have applied after our grocery delivery date, and you have been approved you will be scheduled on the next grocery delivery service date.Our administration team will contact you one day before the scheduled delivery day which is on Friday in order to confirm your grocery delivery. You will also receive a Confirmation message regarding your delivery.

 

Do I need to present on the day of delivery?

Yes. You MUST be present on the day of your delivery, as you would need to SIGN for your delivery. If you are NOT present for your grocery delivery, your delivery will be cancelled. 

 

What if I don’t receive my grocery delivery, but have confirmed and received a confirmation message?

In rare circumstances, if this has happened to you. An emergency grocery delivery will be made on the next business day. Or you may be approved for an extra delivery.

 

I have received one Grocery delivery however I have not received any more grocery deliveries and I am still in need?

Please visit our “APPLY FOR FOODRUN FAQ SECTION” for further information on how you can become eligible to receive further assistance.

 

HOW CAN WE GET INVOLVED?


Is your Foodrun Program government funded?

No, Giving Back Australia, does not receive any funding for any of the services provided at Giving Back Australia.

 

How do you provide help to those who need it?

We are able to assist those in need, by the generosity of business sponsorships, schools and our community.

 

How can we get involved?

There are numerous ways that you can help us achieve sustainability for our vulnerable Australians.

APPLYING FOR CIRCLE OF HOPE

 

How do I apply for circle of hope?

To apply for our circle of hope program click on the “APPLY NOW TAB”  on our CIRCLE OF HOPE PAGE, complete the online application form and submit all relevant documentation.

 

What documentation do I need to submit? 

You must submit your MOST RECENT 

  • Centrelink Income Statement 
  • Bank Statement
  • Rental agreement 
  • Utility Bills 
  • Medical Reports

 

All formats of documents are supported.

 

Why do you request so much documentation? 

By providing us with these documents we are able to determine what your incoming and outgoing expenses are. As part of our financial assessment policy, applicants must not exceed the financial threshold. This allows for our assessments to be as accurate as possible and reflect the current financial hardship that you are currently experiencing. 

 

Do I have to submit documentation? 

You do not have to submit documentation and can supply documentation of what you feel comfortable with providing us. However, this will result into an unfair assessment on your behalf. 

 

Does my information get shared? 

Giving Back Australia maintains the privacy and confidentiality of all our applicants. For further information on how we handle your information please visit our privacy page.

 

If I am only requesting for future grocery deliveries as part of the Foodrun Program Why do I need to supply further documentation? 

We request further documentation, to ensure that the service delivery provided is reflective on your current circumstances. As we are not a Government funded organisation, it is crucial to our sponsors and those donating to feel confident in our organisation to sustain our programs delivered at Giving Back Australia. 

 

Can I apply for assistance If I am located Internationally? 

No. Giving Back Australia only assists those who are residing in Australia.

Homeless Support  FAQs

HOW TO APPLY FOR HOMELESS SUPPORT


How do I apply for Homeless Support?

To apply for our Homeless Support program, click on the “APPLY NOW TAB”  on our HOMELESS SUPPORT PAGE, complete the online application and submit all relevant documentation.

 

How do we provide support to the homeless?

Depending on your circumstances we may;

 

  • Assist you in temporary housing
  • Refer to a networking agency to provide you with temporary housing
  • Give out food relief packs
  • Give out personal hygiene packs

 

Do you assist the homeless internationally?

No. We only provide support to those residing in Australia.

 

I am not able to pay my rent, and fear that I may end up Homeless, Can you help?

 Get off Drugs FAQs


HOW TO APPLY FOR OUR GET OFF DRUGS PROGRAM


How do we apply for the Get Off Drugs Program?

Please visit our Get Off Drugs page and click on Apply Now. A customer service representative will contact you in order to make an appointment. Due to the high demand of the program, appointments could take up to 3 months to see our qualified drug interventionists. 

 

What does the Get off Drugs Program offer? 

Our program provides our clients to receive addiction therapy services in the comfort of their own home. They will have to attend therapy, group therapy, exercise programs and volunteer programs. 

 

Does Giving Back Australia do drug testing? 

All those who are enrolled into our Get Off Drugs program must adhere to our Random Drug and Alcohol testing. 

 

Are we able to get drug testing done if he/she is not enrolled into the Get Off Drugs program? 

Yes. If you would like to do a one-off urine drug test please contact us.

 

I would like for my loved one to get help for their addiction, but says that they are not addicted, What, do I do? 

You cannot force anyone to get help unless they are ready to get help. All AOD programs are voluntary. Unless there is a drug court order in place. 

 

What type of help can I get for addiction? 

There are three types of services that you can receive; 

 

  • Residential Care
  • Detox clinics
  • Outpatient detoxification 

 

My loved one is currently incarcerated and is required on him to join an Alcohol and Drug Program as part of his bail/parole conditions can you help? 

Yes. We do accept those who are incarcerated into our program. However, the individual must adhere to our high-risk assessments and reporting. To receive further information please email us getoffdrugs@givingbackaustralia.org.au

 

My loved on keeps relapsing every couple of months and has gone too rehab before. What can i do to help? 

Relapse prevention is KEY. There could be numerous factors as to why he/she is being triggered to relapse in the first place. To help, it is essential to get the right professionals on board who are experienced in working with triggers and substance addiction. 

 

What makes your program different to everyone else? 

Our program differs substantially from other programs as; 

 

  • Qualified individuals who have background experience on their own substance abuse recovery. 
  • Tailored made uniquely to fit the needs of you and your family.
  • After hours support to you and your family. 
  • Financially effective. 

 

Is the Get Off Drugs Program Government Funded? 

No. Any program and service provided at Giving Back Australia is not Government funded.

How do i join the family?

Visit our Take Action Page to complete an online application, and one of your future brother or sister will give you a call back.


Do I need experience to volunteer at Giving Back Australia?

No. You do not need any experience to volunteer at Giving Back Australia. And in fact the youngest we have had is 5 years of age volunteering at our organisation.

 

What opportunities are available?

We have, numerous opportunities. Roles can be in marketing, management, administration, warehousing and delivering. There is all different roles where you may want to learn a new skill or use your current skills.

 

I won’t be able to commit full-time is this problem?

No. Volunteering at Giving Back Australia could take up to 1 hour a week. We work around you.
